For the Ride of Your Life:

"It may well be that there is no human urge more fundamental than that of making a mark"-

In the words of Chuck Close: "You Just Have to Show Up

"I would like to make something that is real in itself," [Arthur Dove] once wrote, "that does not remind anyone of any other thing, and that does not have to be explained like the letter A, for instance."

“Art is never an end in itself; it is only an instrument for tracing the lines of lives.”

—Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari (qtd. in West)

180 Degrees, Hanging at the Top of the Loop

Well, I will be meeting with Georgie for the last time this weekend. Can hardly believe it. I have finally come to grips with the fact that you cannot always spit out product at will. I will only be bringing two new pieces, but for me, they show leaps and bounds in my thinking, my process, my abilities to really dive into a theme and expound on it almost to it's point of exhaustion. (not quite folks :-))
I still battle with my struggle between my love of representation, of the human form of anatomy and narrative, yet these last two pieces are 180degrees.
You won't see any people here...but you may feel them.
Can't wait to see everyone soon, very soon, too soon, not soon enough.....

Peace
